Question 1: Why does the picture sometime freezes when viewed in IE?

Answer: This can be due to IE not up to date. Simply do a windows update to install all the critical updates except upgrade to IE7. This should fix the problem.

Question 2: How do I view the recorded clip?

Answer: By default, video server program records file in .AV format. To make the files viewable in PC, go into setup then click on advance configuration. Click on special setting, under "To AVI" tab browse and select the .AV files to be transfer to AVI, click transform, program will now transfer the .AV file to AVI format for PC viewing. The new AVI file will be store at the same location as the .AV file. AVI files can be view with windows media player.

Question 3: How to connect a PTZ camera to the video server?

Answer: First configure the switch settings on the PTZ, set ID to 1 and protocol to Pelco-D. Connect the RS485 and video cable from the PTZ to the video server, and then connect the video server to the network. Log on to the video server, go into setup and then advance settings. Click on PTZ and set the protocol to Pelco-D, Baudrate to 2400, and ID to 1. Save and Exit.

Question 4: How do I view the clips recorded by the video server?

Answer: The clips recorded by the video server are .AV file, please use the IP camera multiview program to view these clips. To view, first open the IP camera multiview program, then right click on one of the camera view and select playback. In the new screen, search and locate the clip to be played then click ok, the program will play the selected clip.

Question 5: Can the recording and live view frame be different?

Answer: The recording and live view frame rate is the same; whatever the frame rate the video is streaming at is the frame rate of the recording. To change the stream frame rate go to setup -> basic configuration -> Video & Audio -> under video stream, use the drop down box to adjust the frame rate. (8/22/08)
